Frankfurt, January 2025 – EuroWindoor, European Aluminium, and EPPA have resumed their social media campaign to raise awareness about the role of energy-efficient windows in achieving the EU’s climate goals. The campaign, inspired by the findings of the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP) study, continues to share significant insights in the web.
The first post in 2025 highlights the role of energy-efficient windows reducing energy demand and achieving the EU target for greenhouse gas emissions, which by at least 55% by 2030. The buildings sector is a key contributor to CO2 in the EU, making 34% of energy-related emissions.
The second post emphasizes that window replacement can save 280 TWh/year of heating energy, which corresponds to a saving of emissions of 54 million cars. Energy efficient windows can save heating energy of 28 million households in the EU.
The campaign continues to call on EU and national decision-makers to prioritize investments in energy-efficient windows to combat climate change and improve energy performance across Europe’s building stock.
