Frankfurt, 18th December 2024 – The new EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) has been officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the harmonization of construction products across the single European market.
EuroWindoor welcomes the revised CPR as a key instrument for achieving a well-functioning internal market for construction products. As a longstanding advocate for the harmonization of regulations within the EU, EuroWindoor acknowledges the importance of ensuring both practicality and proportionality in the implementation of the new rules.
In its previous comments on the draft CPR, EuroWindoor highlighted several concerns, many of which have been considered in the final revision. However, further dialogue is needed on specific points, particularly the reduction of bureaucratic burdens for made-to-measure products like windows produced in low quantities of the same product type or as unique items.
EuroWindoor emphasizes the importance of balancing regulatory goals with the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), advocating for practical solutions that ensure compliance without stifling innovation or competitiveness. As discussions move forward, EuroWindoor remains committed to supporting the harmonization of the construction products market while promoting a pragmatic approach to implementation.
